Hello, I am Sheila Caldwell. I live in the pretty coastal town of Pittenweem in Fife, renowned for its Arts Festival each August. I took up painting a few years ago and have delighted in trying out various techniques and working with oils, acrylic, watercolour, inks, encaustic and pastels. Last year I learned how to create pictures with hand felted merino wool which I love. This year I have mainly concentrated on painting in oils.
My pastime has grown to be a great interest and I now successfully exhibit at the prestigious Pittenweem Arts Festival each year, and have previously exhibited in the Jerdan Gallery in Crail, Duchess Anne Hall Dunkeld, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Kirkcaldy Museum Art Gallery, Elie Pavilion, Byre Theatre St.Andrews and at home during the East Neuk Open Studios weekends. I am a member of the St. Andrews Art Club.
The Pittenweem Arts Festival was excellent this year and the weather was sunny and dry almost every day. I had nearly two and a half thousand people visit my venue!
